Este é um dicionário aramaico-latino-árabe, que, em sua primeira parte, apresenta as palavras categorizadas de acordo com conceitos teológicos, e não na ordem do alfabeto. Por exemplo, o capítulo I  se chama  “De nominibus & atributtis Dei”, ou seja, “Sobre o nome e atributos de Deus”, e então a relação de palavras e conceitos relacionados a este tema.

A segunda parte (a partir da página 343) apresenta todas as palavras pela ordem do alfabeto aramaico.

INTRODUCTORY NOTE

The ” Woodbrooke Studies ” will consist of texts and translations of Christian documents in Syriac, Arabic, and Garshuni drawn from the manuscripts forming part of my own collection, which, for the time being, is in the custody of the Rendel Harris Library, Selly Oak, Birmingham.

These Studies will appear first in serial form in the columns of the ” Bulletin of the John Ry lands Library,” which is published twice during the course of the year, in the months of January and July. At the end of each year they will be issued in a separate volume uniform with the present initial issue.

Lexicon Syriacum Concordantiale, Omnes Novi Testamenti Syriaci – Carolus Schaaf

Este é um léxico aramaico-latim, bastante antigo, do ano de 1709 e autoria de  Karl (Carolus em latim) Schaaf. Baseado na edição do Novo Testamento em Aramaico do mesmo autor (ainda não encontrei esta edição da Peshitta na internet – quando achar, eu publico aqui).

Durante muito tempo este léxico foi uma referência importante para diversos autores.

As imagens do arquivo .pdf não estão muito boas, mas o leitor interessado poderá ter uma idéia do seu conteúdo.

Este talvez seja o mais completo dicionário aramaico-inglês já publicado, tendo sido baseado no grande Thesaurus Syriacos.

Prefácio

It was hoped that this abridgement of Dean Payne Smith’s Thesaurus Syriacus would have appeared together with or earlier than the last part of that work. I deeply regret the long delay, due chiefly to my father’s death in 1895, and to the consequent necessity of laying aside my own papers, in order to labour, in conjunction with D. S. Margoliouth, at the completion of the greater work.

ARRANGEMENT

As this abridgement is meant chiefly for beginners I thought alphabetical rather than scientific order to be preferred, all the more because ideas of scientific arrangement vary.

Participial adjectives are placed with passive participles under the Peal conjugation because of the difficulty of distinguishing one from the other, also because the verbal, adjectival, and substantival uses of these forms slide into each other.

When the same English translation is given to more than one conjugation of a verb, it will be understood that the Pael meaning is intensive, that the Ethpeel is’used of a single action and the Ethpaal of frequent or repeated action.

I do not give Greek words unless in use, and only a few proper nouns; exceptions are when a true Syriac word has the same form as a Greek word or as a proper noun, in such cases I have put the Greek or the name to avoid any possible confusion. Also proper nouns when an adjective is derived from them.

Esta é a edição da editora Bagster & Sons da Peshitta. Contêm todos os 27 livros do Novo Testamento. Acompanha um léxico aramaico-latim de autoria de Aegidio Gutbier, editado por E. Henderson.

O texto do Novo Testamento está na ordem reversa, ou seja, começa na última página do documento. O léxico está logo no início do documento, sendo apresentado na ordem normal.

A escrita utilizada é o Serto.

As imagens das páginas não estão muito boas, sendo que algumas estão com as margens cortadas. Muitas páginas também estão repetidas. Mas é possível ter-se uma idéia do conteúdo.

Este léxico aramaico-latim foi compilado a partir do léxico em sete línguas  (heptaglota – aramaico, hebraico, arábico, pérsico, etiópico, samaritano, caldaico) de Edmund Castell, e que acompanhava a Bíblia Poliglota, Edição Londrina de Brian Walton.

Língua: aramaico, com introdução, tradução e notas em latim.

Observação: Em dois volumes. O volume II ocorre a partir da página 476 (494 do documento), com paginação contínua.
